Question regarding pet equipment

I was wondering what happens when attempting to upgrade pet equipment to "Legend" and failing. Do you:
1) Lose the equipment and the stones
2) Only lose the stones

It's 25% chance(unless you use the lucky pet stones), but with how much it cost to even get to "Chaos" to go to "Legend" it's quite the gamble.

So I was just curious what happens. Any help is appreciated thank you =].

Bump. Still wondering on this issue. Tried today but got lucky so it didn't fail so I still don't know.

Seems so. Just interested in the outcome. Can farm the upgrade material, however the initial cost(especially if you're looking for a specific equipment) can get expensive
