  • Intended or not?

we've recently experienced the problem of suddenly getting dced and toons remaining online.

The question is .. the manual dc was purposely removed or not? if it is, it's a very stupid move.
if not intended, how long do you think they can fix it?

The force-log was intentionally removed for account security reasons, according to R2. As for the issue with toons immediately going offline after a disconnection, a timely resolve would be a smidge too hopeful. The problem concerns the game's actual engine, so it is proving to be more temperamental than expected.

Not allowing force log-in's can be just as bad as allowing it(in terms of account protection). Either way it's just as bad lol, I want to see r2's point of view on this :/.
Why is bacon called bacon and cookies called cookies when you bake cookies and cook bacon

It works both ways; something R2 didn't take into account when making the change. The idea is that if someone manages to get into your account, they will not be able to force you off and lock you out, though we, moderators, have brought to their attention of how it can also backfire (if the account owner were trying to force an intruder out). Unfortunately the change is here to stay, so the ultimate hand now is to refrain from sharing your login.

seems like the changes starting to backfire big time since most issues are directly on sudden disconnection.
if the changes are intended, it's still not a good change simply because the hacker can just wait out till the real owner logs off.

if they really serious about account security they should add in another security lock on a character and give us a "lock delete" function or verification through email.
or atleast a manual account lock via email, that should boot anyone who currently logged in and lock the account immediately that for me, should be the perfect way to protect your account.
