can you save game and character?

I'm new to this game and i was wondering if you could save your game and character instead of having to restart the game all over again?

the game and settings is automatically saved, so you do not have to worry about saving your game and character

how do i get to the character that is saved. When I log in it restart from the beginning of the game?

if you have to start from the beginning, thats normally a sign that its a incorrect login or you are on the wrong server
