what hapend with socket after sinthesize?

If I enchant and use socketing rod on item and then synthesize it to Legendary, additional socket and enchant will remain or disappear??

when you make it legend you keep your level, current gems equiped and socket rods. So fear not
The difference with making it legend is:
- max enchantment level increase
- able to use 4th socket slot, instead of 3 from normal piece
- slightly better refinements
