There could be a variety of reasons they go away. Possibly they aren't making money doing what they were doing, or they have changed their business model. Good things come to an end always, we can hope for more down the road.

SonicAds has always been known as short-changing folks by asking for too much. I haven't done any of the free stuff since a few years back when they fail to give the balens (was on old account) that I had to go through a song and dance with them. If things were easy as "done" then probably I would say something differently about them. I am glad they got the boot, though.
