Doubtful, Cindy. Nginx is the web server and that error will appear when the web server isn't able to communicate the site. Usually it's the result of the sys admin making a mistake while updating or changing something, but sometimes it's just a hiccup with the internet.

It had been happening throughout the day on May 30th 2018.
I got people reporting frequent disconnection as well.
1 of them had been locked out for nearly an hour before reset and missed all event rewards, eudaemon domain sign up, Rave, devotion, etc. Now that person is really upset.
Not that I think the game should be perfect, but at a minimum it should be up and running at a time when it is supposed to.
Just to be clear, it wasn't a network issue, as some servers were accessible when some others got an error.
A network dig showed the servers were responding. Just the application being irresponsive, possibly crashed.

That's not related to the quick site wide outage that occurred when this thread was posted. There's no reports of any servers being down on May 30, all servers have been up and running as they should be. I have seen a few random reports of disconnections over the past few days, but they aren't wide spread enough to indicate an issue with the game itself.
