Cannot synthesize a Eudemon in combat

Okay i tried to merge wild ranger and blood warrior... however it says "Cannot synthesize a Eudemon in combat" And i tried to drag my latest eudemon back in set willpower but it doesnt back to list. Please help!

Remove those kids from eud arena, endless abyss, make sure they are not doing a patrol.
