I am not sure what you're asking here. I am thinking that making the game 3D, wouldn't reduce the lag, as 3d rendering is more intensive.

Are you having lag issues that you are trying to get resolved?

No to 3D. It takes a long time to render with current tech. Zinga did that with Farmville 2 that I put that down because it took a lot of time to render after the loading screen. And if cache is back online, imagine the size it will hold on your hard drive.
