The Last 2 Gem Events have been really bad.. What happened to getting gold and extra gems for synthesizing them. The rewards for the last 2 events were really disappointing.

I agree they haven't been as good as some past ones. Keep in mind though, that events change and some are better than others. It's your choice to participate in them or not.
