It's a System message, so it cannot be hidden by clicking a different chat tab.

And...

Cross-Server MPD invites do not work at all! NOBODY CAN ENTER THE ROOM, FROM THE ORIGINATING SERVER OR ANYWHERE ELSE!!!

What a shame!!!
