  • Last Server Regrouping Before Class War

The last server grouping by R2 introduced heavy cashers into the already clustered grouping.

Wartune servers are already getting merges and full of cashers
    • If you were on Wartune 20 as example, and there were 2 whales but not as much spending and R2 decided to merge you.
    • They merged you with another server that had 3 whales but not as much spending.
    • Now you have 5 Whales.
    • If that new server grouping isn't spending, they'll add more servers to the cluster
    • Hence you have 8+ more Whales.
    • So the whales list keeps expanding for Wartune Servers

Kabam servers are full of heavy cashers and multiple merges
    • Same as the Wartune Servers above Kabam is gettting the same cluster. More and more whales per merge

Koram servers are not getting anything
    • Small server merges, but not many use the portal.

    Armorgames are not getting anything
    • Small server merges, but not many use the portal.

    Kongregate are not getting anything
    • Their whales are based on pure spending, with only 1 server merge.

This is besides the point, but R2 is basically putting new blood in the swimming pool to get cashers to either up their game, or bail out.
As we can see from the protest group there are probably 2 big cashers that have truely bowed out from spending/recharging.
While there are a few that say they are but haven't really been honest w/ themselves or that facebook protest group.

So besides the protest failing (namely to several groups of servers withing WT/R2/Kabam/Kong S-VII), there is an unlikelihood R2 is going to listen or change.
Server merges and regrouping is purely done to heighten competition for improved spending.

The true reality of cross server events is pointless since:
    • Rewards Haven't Changed
    • Merged Servers Have most of the advantage because they have multiple whales
    • Even if you try, you dont have enough spending to put you in Warlord's

The real protest is not to do the cross server events
    • Not Doing the XS events would decrease spending
    • Since XS events are all about EGO's and wallet size, and rarely about real team play, the winning teams/players are usually the same by now.

As Miklo once quoted on his wartune blog, you can sink tons of $ into R2-Wartunes, but you'll never come out on top.

The only one that the merges really affect is Chaos War. Everything else does not care how many whales you have in your server group.

Cross Server Guild Battle is about guilds. Doesn't matter if it is 10 servers or 20 in the grouping, as long as the guilds are the same, there is no effect from merging.
Titan War is about your player group, the people you play with. That isn't going to change regardless of merges.
Class War is a solo effort. Doesn't matter where the whales come from.
Steel War is again, about your player group.
Eternal War doesn't even exist, but again, your spouse isn't going to change because of a merge, so it doesn't matter.

The thing that is well and truly affected is the intra-server guild battles, not inter-server stuff.

The merges does not affect the already fixed rankings in any significant way, barring Chaos War. What will is the rest of the region catching up to the whales once they stop spending. Then, we will see the rankings start to change.

Whales are still whales even if they are no longer the sole whale on their server.
Most whales benefit from merges for having more whales to run with.
More merges means they don't need to help their guildies nor do they need to care how small players feel any more, because they can flock together and ignore the rest.
When whales are scattered, they need support from the rest, and often feel helpless because no one around could be stronger than them.
When whales flock together, they can ignore the rest, and no guild could resist their gang because only they can help win GB and CSGB.

Anyone who's not a whale would have to suffer most of the pains from every merger.
Lost individual ranking rewards, lost Chaos War qualification, lost guild battles and guild ranking rewards, lost guild battle spots for those who are in top guilds, smaller guilds being bumped out of top 8, being plundered and bullied by jerky players from a merged server, and so on so forth.
More than half the players from each server are either gone or significantly less active after every merge. That's tons of pains for those who have close friends who had left game.
Worse yet, MOST merged servers still don't rank well for Chaos War, because other servers could have more merges and more whales who can beat them up, also because a server has to rank #1 at prelim and #2 for final, #2 for prelim and #1 for final, or #1 for both times to give the whole server a Pyre Horse, any rank combo other than that would NOT do.
All in all, the only better thing is, those from dead servers could have more people to run with, and some of the originally more arrogant upper-mid players would have to open up and run with lower players after they lost their gang and their pride.
But if they originally came from a server with friendly whales, they would probably lose support from these whales for the reasons stated above, so having "more new people to run with" is arguably a gain worth the loss of everything else.

When R2 put in their generic "One size MUST fit all" method into x-server events like arenas, battlegrounds, and sylph arenas, I did only 1 arena fight, skipped out of BG, and only hit 1 fight in sylph just to get the weekly rewards. It was pointless to keep going further if you are going to lose all the time or get the new servers for easy wins (which wouldn't be fair to them as well). R2/Proficient City had taken out the "strategy" out of the game, and makes it into "whoever spends the most, wins". When they (possibly) had a meeting with other providers (Kabam, Armor, Mini, Aeria, etc.), they probably were gearing up to put everyone together, which furthers the gap (especially on new servers) for many cross-platform (as I have known now) events.

Long ago, many players were thrilled when a new server opens because they can go in there, get up to be the best, and wait until a merge happens so they can show off (myself included). Now, it's a "meh" when one opens, as you can do some stuff to get #1 status (or top whatever), but the cross platform (and the shenanigans of R2) just killed all that.

Stop recharging and stop caring but keep playing, that's what i've been doing since they introduced merged sylphs.

there's rumor saying sylph merge now could take bound balens. maybe merged sylph isn't a casher thing any more.
but sylph makes a bigger difference only in sylph arena & expedition, where the rewards are close to useless for those with a sylph above 500k br.
it also makes a difference when your character is strong enough and when you are facing opponents with immunity, but those case are rare, and strong players can still give a good whopping even with a one-star white sylph newly farmed from atoll.

the real pain is something abbreviated KH that basically axed the ground to create a cliff between the two worlds.
those are two segregated worlds, where the 'developed' side can throw cannons to the underdeveloped old world where they came from.
it is a cliff. some have already jumped across it to join the developed world. to jump or not to jump, it's up to you.
