can someone please explain how a group of 3 persons with the highest player br of 65k can be placed against players where the entire other group is 70k + br? and how or why with thousands of players we are matched 5 to 10 times against the same team. this has been going on repeatedly for months now.

It's not matched on BR, but on level bracket. If the highest level in your team is 62, you'll (mostly) meet ppl max lvl 64-ish. BR has got nothing to do with it.
