I am a little confused why servers that are not having a time change need to be down for maintenance.

Looks like the parts of the world that count, do indeed have time changes.

The time now is 07:50 GMT on the 26th. I know as I live in the UK ie GMT time and it has been off for 50 minutes
To me that should have happened at 23:00 tonight but that would be in the main action time
Please get you number right so we can plan

Mr. R28340711, please think it over one more time. UK time is GMT+0 and it's 07:50.. The maintenance is happening at 15 GMT+8, which means you add 8 hours to your time, which means it is 15:50 GMT+8, now please do tell how it isn't 15:00 GMT+8 yet??

not a surprise about DST (it happens every year, as well as this *****) but server time is connected to GST which is constant so no need to change? So why a problem?
