  • wartune legacy?

thinking if there's anything that you can leave to your best friend(s) in-game if you shall decide to leave the game (other than giving them your account).

    No.

I'm writing this message because R2 has this weird rule about minimum character quotas.

Thus this almost-3-year-old knight has finally reached its ultimate destiny, that is, to retire and quit from its server indefinitely.

Despite all the crazy patches, unimpressive service and massive loss of game mates in the past year, which still leave some trace effect on us, this isn't a rage quit, nor is it in relation with bad experience in game. I'm leaving this server for a personal reason. I live in Eastern timezone and this former "main" character is in Western timezone. The three-hour difference combined with the new reset time have made lots things difficult. I ended up pulling all-nighters more often than my schedule and health could possibly permit. I had to force myself to leave this place even though I still don't want to.

Nothing has been done to my toon other than using up everything I had saved over the years, just to eliminate the need for mail and guild vault. Surprisingly, I had managed to pack all items in just one page, after synthesized/wasted all clothings, sent all roses, used all upgrade items, sold all useless items, and donated all gold and daru to guild. I actually still have some unused items that I didn't want to sell, but I cannot continue to play until they run out and would not want to see my character in another person's hand (the same account is linked to multiple R2 games).

So everything has been taken care of. Farewell party has been held among close friends. I just logged out and my character is frozen there, as if I had never existed. I zipped up and password-protected all screenshots for this character, and promised myself not to open the file unless there's necessity, and also logged on to a random Wartune server so that this former "home" server got buried somewhere and no longer shows itself in my login screen. Have I forgotten my server number and IGN yet? Or say, could I ever forget them? Possibly no. But friends and I would avoid talking about it as possible, knowing that staying away from their in-game gang is for my personal sake. I'm still connected to most friends from this game, and still appreciate its social aspect. Speaking of how much I miss my people, it would feel rather touchy. But no game lasts forever. I'm just leaving the big party earlier than some friends do.

This isn't the farewell from Wartune yet. My secondary character is still active. I'd still be playing on some EDT Server, just not a knight, not emotionally attached to anyone from there, and not pulling all-nighters any more. This last one was actually my least favorite character to begin with and the one damaged most from glitches, but surprisingly it became my only one from tonight on. That is life.
