You can create more than one character per server, however like CS, you will not be able to log them both in silmultaenously. You can, however, create another account and another character there and log both toons from both accounts at once in the same browser window.

Yes, just use different accounts. And it depends on your computer specs. In CS1 I could run 5 accounts at the same time, but running a 6th will cause flash player to crash. I'd go with Chrome or Firefox.
