I have been using my email to login but it is really long. I see the fill-in box ask for email or nickname. I tried using my name and it say user does not exist. How do I register a nickname to login with?

Once you're bound to an email, your email is forever used as your username. There is no way to change this.

Memory, I think it goes back to what we discussed when it comes to login and registration when they changed such. To refresh, it was a time where I wanted to register some user names but instead they went off with email registrations that are later used for logins instead of user names.
To Albotodra, R2 login/registration has changed to the email format. User names (aka nicknames) are no longer the bit when it comes to logging in. If you had an old R2 account that is a user name, you can still log in with that. However, the new system only registers email addresses as the user name when accounts were created.Vicious! Approach with Caution!
