Can't play CS using wifi

I can't seem to play CS using a wifi connection even though the internet is fast, it always say "Login Failed: Failed to connect to server!" but when i'm using my regular internet i am able to play. Is it because of the IP Address?

Try running a reset on your modem and your router. If your router has a backup battery you might want to do a hard reset by pressing the tiny button on the back of your router. Same with Modem. Call you ISP and ask them to send a refresh signal might help also. If that still does not work, then try flushing your dns.

It's a well known fact that wifi is no good for this game. The game kicks players when they "time out" or lag too much, and wifi signals can be disrupted by several things, and sometimes even more so when a router is involved. microwaves, wireless speakers and console controllers, bluetooth, cell phones, old televisions, power cables, mirrors, fish tanks, walls, etc etc etc can all interfere with a wifi signal. Try setting your router or modem is a more central location to the devices connected to it to minimize signal interference. I would highly recommend using a wired connection at all times when playing this game.

I have never once used a wired connection and I do not have any wifi issues with connection with the game. If you have a half decent router, and half decent internet speeds, then you should have no issues running the game through wifi.

I've also never used wired connection and very rarely suffer from much lag, disconnection, etcetera. During the times IOB had unbound items, I ran about 10 toons using just wifi. It really all depends on your router and service, as previously stated.

Wi-Fi can be a little strange sometimes with CS in my experience, it all depends if your ISP is good, DNS servers are good, and there isn't any trouble in the connection. Personally I have had problems with my DNS, but it is not because of the game itself.

If your Wifi is on "5 bars" it doesnt mean it's good. It's about the mbs. I used to play to on 72 mbps without failure, but with failure with 18 mbps.

I'm almost 90% sure that's the speed of data transfer between server and user. When I disconnect my mbps is in the hundred thousands, when I'm not lagging I'm in the 10's and when my internet is a bit slow it shows high numbers. You can correct me if I'm wrong but that's what my belief of that is.

im using wifi atm as well and I rarely dc from the server, but its slower than wired and I never disconnect while im wired. its very true that if you have a low end isp then youre gonna have some issues. outdated computers and modems etc can also contribute to a poor experience. ive played on the worst of the worst computers and some really amazing gaming computers. spent a lot of time configuring peoples computers to max out performance for games just like this one...
