Well, answer is that event was bugged and there is no plans for compensation. If they find cause of this issue in future they may repeat event and it will be possible for exchange. There is no plans for it at current moment.

Just wanted to say that I am still looking at the shiny, useless amulets in my inventory..my Dragon Staff and Chiara's Blood Chalice...the issue got solved on my GTA account within a week.

Weird, because which i write above was provided by same people, which fixed your issue on your GTArcade account within week. And well, i cant say that i am surprised, but answer i have received was final.
