At same BR, he will take off maybe 60-70% of the mage's HP and mages can gain a nice chunk back right away by selecting restore as soon as the knight selects EDD

Most mages i have faced died easily ( even with full hp ) because of my E.D.D. Knights' Ulti Slasher yes can take half of the hp away from most mages if the talent skill ( Second Wind ) is about lvl 4.
