That was my idea because my account is under threat my email. I wanted to change email for safety reasons. I found out you cant change it once verified. If my email dies that's it. I have security issues with mine that's why I`ve been changing everything over. Emails are locked permanently even if there dead. That's R2 Games for yah.

Yep, you cannot change your email address once verified (why, when you can just reverify when you change it? but that's r2 for you). However, if your regular email is gone, you can still log into your r2 account; I would change my password upon such if it does come down to that.

My email has been bombarded with spam and scams and through infiltration on my computer I had my name stolen. My email had one intrusion. Scammers use my name. I get filthy dirty stuff with my name and with out not always filthy other junk too by scammer emails filled with malware and viruses etc. Theft.

Yep, it's a sad thing. Kind of makes you wonder how in the hell they find your email address in sending you junk like that. I know I've been through 200+ email changes, had 10 of those locked out by the provider due to "suspected" use (and yet they do not go after the people who made the spam happen in the first place), 150 of them closed down by me as a result of finding the first viagra or porn spam mail in the inbox, 3 of them because it was Microsoft's fault in not teaching its automated system the difference between accessing email from a computer and from an approved mobile (which I had to confirm) and I am too tired of trying to satisfy them with the supposed questionnaire (like who's going to remember the last folks or the subjects of the emails they've sent to), and 7 of which were closed off due to supposed being a fake person (like hell, since I put in my mobile number to verify, you spazzes).

Seems like providers are punishing the legit people while let spam get a free pass.... hmm, now that reminds me of something, LOL.

Then again, a drone of my own with armaments would be nice to go after those "lottery" scammers.

One reason for not allowing people to change their verified email is for account security purposes. If someone gets into your account without your permission, you still have a way to recover the account because you should have access to the email you verified. There's plenty of articles on the internet for how to secure your email account to make it less likely for a hacker to get into it, even if the provider itself is compromised.

Another reason for not allowing people to change their verified email address is R2 does not support the trading, giving away, or selling of accounts, and in theory, should reduce the occurrence of people breaking the Terms of Service in this manner because the account itself will never actually stop belonging to the original owner, who can easily gain access to it at any time by using the bound email and lock out anyone else who was using it.

There is a way. I changed ISP once and since my old emailaddress was linked to my account i filed a ticket to change it. The "elves" responded to that and they would change it but i had to send proof that both emailaddresses were mine. I had to send in a copy of my ID-card and after that they would change it.

It never came that far because i kept owning this emailaddress since i changed back to my old ISP again (most ISP's can link old addresses to a new profile) so no change was needed in my case. But since R2 was willing to help at that point it is always a good idea to send in a ticket.

But be clear about what you want. Name the old address and point out directly what the new address should be. Tell them you are the owner of both addresses and that you can proof that (by sending a copy of your ID-card and a screenshot of the settings-page from both addresses showing your name.

This will not 100% guarantee that they will change it but chances are high that they will.

              Good luck.

Microsoft are bad for allowing this to happen and they don't much care ether. In the forums and feedback never changes anything. I`ve started to ditch there email because lack of security and spam and scams and people accounts under threat. Some had there's stolen and can`t get it back. There security for recovering accounts is pointless how many have lost it and even if you are in another location. Even on forums are complaining about it and even me.

                Regards.

There are exceptions to every rule. Yes, it's possible, in extreme circumstances, to get a verified email address changed. If the email bound to the account becomes an actual issue down the road, there is help for that. There's several factors that go into that happening, that I won't be sharing, but I wouldn't be concerned about losing your account when you stop using the email provider you've bound your account to, as long as you are the same person who registered the account in the first place.

Yep, I've lost my Skype account of 30 dollars credit due to them saying that someone was using my account (uh duh, it was me, you idiots, on my mobile device). I don't know why MS bought Skype as it was fine on its own and I never had any problems whatsoever (yeah, I do make a lot of calls; and since I got a mobile connected to the wi-fi, it got even better for me) until a few months ago. I've used passwords that are random key generated through a coding system that could not be cracked but would require my thumb print to access. And that gets updated every so many months (cannot be broken into if they tried).

But email now a days (unless you host your own) are a joke. They say they advert away spam, but instead support them since most of the junk I get, I hit the report button to be told there is nothing they could do. Hell, when I first had an email address on MSN, I could not send an email if I don't set up the email address that is valid in the field when it comes to "from:", although some of these jokers do not have a problem sending an email out from some bogus email address.

I've changed providers to an email service that I am testing out since I don't want to have it locked out for "supposedly" doing something "suspicious" (like I spam, LOL, yeah right!). I want to get my damn email. Nothing more.

I had Skype, I gone off it a while ago. I changed my email to an entirely different one changing everything over and like this site I cant. Still waiting for a retail site about changing my email. Try answering in 48 hours its been 3 days resent them an email. When I had problems with things there live chat is hopeless they ditch to another one until some one gets the problem have. They seem funny a bit. I`ve had it with a few live chats there some time hopeless. I stay away from some email sites. I went to one that's supposed to be tougher on spam and scams.

I get spammed terribly and scammers with malware viruses and fake websites to steal. Spoofing emails. Like filthy email I thing spammers and scammers who are from around the world thinks its funny. I find it disgusting They use email generators. Computers and hardware is my thing hobbies. This is taking the mick. One main site I have to get it changed I wrote about the problem why I need it changed. So far silent. Scammers and spammers are nothing more than crooks.

                        Peace Regards.
