Also to upgrade my soul engraving to make my BR higher.

I'm not sure if I should use the sc exchange.

Maybe better to wait until you can change for advanced crystals.

How do you know that there will be an exchange of normal crystals for advanced ones?

I wish we knew if we're getting an exchange for advanced.

It'll be a little while I figure before we get loads of the new sc for free anyways. They gotta make that new content greenbacks afterall.

Max soul engraving is level 80. I am not sure if that changed since the update since I am around lvl 50 on Soul Engraving.

Max is still 80, we should be getting the new soul system this month with the new patch that is suppose to be coming out. I just hope they put up patch/maint info soon xD

Max is 200% once you get to a certain level ( I forget) it goes up by 3% until you hit 200

Incidentally what is the max level for SC does anyone know?

Max is 200% once you get to a certain level ( I forget) it goes up by 3% until you hit 200

I'm not sure but I really don't think you'd lose anything much by waiting. I'd trade for runestones if I'd trade any.
