However you can get the Gentle beast from the wilds shop for half the price +200 stones - wonder where peeps are gonna get this mount from, well it aint gonna be from the Hot Shop

If people wish to get a little more done in the spender event then they may choose to buy the mount from the hot shop. This way they can save those stones if there is something else they want or they may not have enough stones.

Dont forget that wild stones are easy obtained at higher level, but much difficult at lower level, + the amount of work can be skipped. Not really sure what level wild shop is unlocked btw, so for lower cashers this could seem accessable (but yeah i do agree with you:P)
