The hearts will not upgrade both rings, only your ring, or his ring.. whoever has the hearts. I never understood why it was solo when all the rest of the marriage things are done together, but that's how it is. i hope you will get that ring upgraded soon, that is.. if you are married, and good luck!

It upgrades your ring, not crafts it. Like tons of items, R2 describes them wrong to mislead you.
