question about "strangers" in friend list

can you please explain me what exactly and how do ppl get on my strangers list? i had some ppl on my friend list and few days ago i find out that my starngers list is almost big as my friend list, ocupying my friends slots and keeping them on lvl 0 frendliness... i was thinking that ppl get there when block me, but few ppl told me that they didnt block me, and they got on my list. then i have block group, and i asume that where ppl wo i block and who block me goes... So what are conditions to get ppl on "strangers" list then?

Strangers are people you friended but they didn't friend you. Either they didn't friend you back or they removed you from their friend list.
