I find it silly that mines are guarded only by 1 unit. As soon as you reach a new map, you can hunt around for the highest-levelled mine.
I suggest making them tougher to get than a Treasure Chest in the Wilds. That way, each mine level would be meaningful.
Also, remove the duration on the mines and the ability for other people to steal your mine. Each time you level up or simply try for a different mine, you need to abandon a mine as usual to try for a different mine.
