confused about the point system in this module I routinely see very low BR groups in the gold group so low that whole group can be despatched with one shot how is it possible that they reach this level.

ppl change sylph team to let others pass them, then they have easy fights to go ahead themselves

With luck and timing, even a really weak team can get pretty high up. My alt sometimes ends up in the top 20 with an 80k herc and not much else. Pretty much it depends on how many people strip their teams down to a single weak sylph.
