None of the old talents or skill have any effect as far as I can tell.

As far as the rage requirements, who knows. I wouldn't put it past R2 to change the rage consumption on a skill during a maintenance without telling anyone but I know I've always lost rage using that skill. Frankly the part of the skill description which says "50% chance to deduce damage taken...." almost always grabs my attention more than anything else. LOL

Cause the 10 rage per "common single skill" instead the "6 rage + 2 rage" is a slight buff by 2 rage for a full healing mage // and ya choosing from a tanky healing mage and a squishy dps mage we can choose 2 diff builds now rather than the "reliable" crit build pre patch - wich applied to both your dps and heals perfectly - now you may go super tanky on your healer without loosing hps (heal per second) and yes choosing to have 30k more endu or 30k more int in tattoos is a huge diff in hp - also choosing to have def and HP + HP gems makes a huge diff compared to your (most likely) matk and crit + crit + matk gems also going 100% HP on your sylph

also you finally having a use in your rage rune cause its not too shabby in pvp group fights or even pve

btw where does it say that mage has to be a 1 v 1 killing machine against other classes? you mentioned yourself - he is powerful in group play - nuff said - thats where you shine and in class wars your odds to win are the same again
Well, I don't play a mage, but they've always looked like the most rage-constrained class to me. Yes, lightning bolt is only 8 rage gain, which is 2 less than the knighthood skill, but every other attack skill gains rage back - RoF will net +2 rage against just 2 targets, even more with more targets. And Castinator and several talents will all give a chance at rage reduction, making it possible to cast more expensive skills more often. Plus no one uses any skill that costs more than 60 rage, most of them 35 or less.
By contrast, after knighthood, mages have exactly one skill that gains rage, and with skills at 30, 80, and 100 rage cost, it's not easy to use them without a rage rune (or ring proc). I'm betting rage rune will be one of the standard equips of all knighthood mages, but I wouldn't consider it a privilege to need it.

That's a really interesting skill description. The other source that I was using (which cannot be named here on the forums) said that wrath strike would create a 'bubble' of sorts, for 50% of the damage caused. How does it really work? Because a 50% chance to reduce damage taken by 50% sounds amazingly overpowered - game breaking overpowered.

From what I've seen, it does provide a buff occasionally that says it reduces damage 50%. but for all the times it's happened then either that 50% chance to occur is the rigged casino 50% or I've just had super rotten luck. I don't have hard figures but I can tell you that it seems closer to 20% chance to occur. And if you think that is OP, imagine what happens when it procs with some of the other DEF skills (and these aren't even maxed yet):

Here I was thinking they couldn't do much worse with probability than my 25% illusion astral.

              Skill point chart for mage

Has anyone seen or compiled a skill point chart for the different classes for knighthood skills? It seems I'm getting a new skill point every 3 levels, but knights are getting a skill point every 2 levels. Just wondered if that's actually the case? Thanks.

After talking to a magister, I was told that all classes get the same skill points at the same time, which makes sense. And anyone who told me that knights get a new skill knighthood skill point every even level are either mistaken or ******* with me. Probably the latter.

the problem is not the skill points. the problem is we can't use old skills and the new skills, you can't mix offensive with defensive skills, this suck. and for mage, the healing skills suck hard.

to hell with it, im not a freaking healer nurse, im a freaking mage ffs wartune rework on your knighthood skills

heal skills are kinda irrelevant once you get knighthood. its kill or be killed

It's actually every 4 lvls and it's the same for all Classes.
