There's no point in doing battlegrounds anymore when you have whale campers.
If you dont cash enough theres minimal chance you wont crack a dent in BG, while these types of players aim for 30 kills a bg and 1000 kills/day.

So its one less event for you to do daily

R2 fails to understand the rest of the player community

One of those Whales is on my server, when asked how they got so strong someone estimated that they spent $60,000 but the Server's Biggest Whale said in WC that they don't cash like that they just leverage their events!

So whatcha think? 60k for a 16,000,000+ BR too low, too high, liar, or in denial?
I think the Server's Biggest Whale has Obama level liar/question dodging skills...ha!

If you spend 60 thousand dollars on wartune and only have 16million BR, you suck at this game. I could easily spend less than a sixth of that and get a similar result.

Well, if you're stupid and only recharge when there's no recharge event and recklessly spend unbound balens without there being an active spending event, then it's possible to waste quite a bit of money and have a low BR. For example, if some idiot crafts a lvl 12 gem, then they can easily blow away over $80,000 USD with 266.6 recharges of 30,000 balens. I'll never understand the point of even having that in the game...
I would say they probably spent around $15,000, which can be more or less depending on how long they have been playing, when they recharged(events, etc.), what they used the balens on, etc. Some players are just stupid and will spend more on rapidly upgrading their sylphs and eudaemons than their character.

I'll never understand why those people are in such a hurry to get those BG kill titles. All together they do not make much of a difference besides adding to your BR. Once you hit 6,000 honor, I don't see a point.

I can easily see that 60k$ number being true. Anyone remember darkstorm? Back when 250k br was the best of the best, he was talking in bg about having spent over 100k$ on this game.

Well, I can't vouch for whether or not a particular person is being honest, but there was talk years ago about multiple people having spent over 100k. Don't know why he would've lied about that though. Spending that much on a browser game doesn't exactly make you look good.

Dont seek logic in whales actions, there is just none. I imagine most of them being spoiled brats with rich parents that havent worked single day of their life and dont know value of money. Others are just bored rich people who like to have things the easy way no matter the cost. They might as well bet and loose those money in casino without giving an eyeblink cause simply they have it. Whatever the case those people are plain morons to invest in this exact game. This is the only aspect of R2 that i actually admire - the way they swindle out money out of their golden geeses and they actualy are doing this legaly. Game itself is broken in so many ways but on other hand their ToS is flawless - basically you have to tolerate everything that they change justified or not and dont have any right to complain.

Not sure about the actual amount of money spent. 100k is not impossible; it's not a big amount relative to the huge debts that most people have to repay (you know what they are).
But to my knowledge of this game, there are probably almost-no trust fund babies playing this game. (not going to talk about myself)
Most players seem to be working, retired, unemployed, or bedridden.
Online RPG provides an escape from reality. For those who seek salvation in the virtual world, it is very addictive, even if they don't actually feel happy in-game.
Even the executives and business owners who play this game are most likely the lesser-achieving ones relative to their peers, or they rose up from the ordinary and struggled for their success.
In fact, many of them spent a fortune (relative to their own financial strength) in this game and became overly obsessed with winning simply because they want to get the things they can't get in real life.
There are happy and successful people around, but they are very rare, and some are just too young to be on the short end of anything, which also means they aren't the whales who spent without logic.
Before knowing any personal details of "whales", I would have thought they were all spoiled brats. But the truth I was being told is in fact depressing.

Most "flash whales" aren't very lasting. Those people don't wait for event because they don't plan to stay in game for long.
They just want to have some "good feelings" in this game, and then withdraw from it completely, because they simply don't have the time and money to keep it up for 3-4 years.
In the old days before this rapid patching cycle started, I've met a sizeable number of such "hurry to the top" people.
Most of them made into TOK NM within a few months, and then left game abruptly, most likely at a time when a new patch or new good events arrived, which permitted the rest to catch up with them easily.
From their own mouth, they typically spent some 5000-20,000 per month, but most of them lasted for less than 12 months, so the overall spending is not astronomical.

When I talked with the more-lasting "whales", most of them played for long hours each day for over 2 years, and most only spent hundreds each month.
That's like the cost of 1 or 2 stadium tickets, or the copay of a specialist visit or a branded prescription drug refill.
If they are busy working and have to cancel 1 or 2 stadium visits a month, they can afford to be a "whale" in Wartune.
If playing Wartune saves them a trips to a specialist or therapist, or saves them a ton of pain relievers/depression drugs/etc., they'd rather buy into the game than to take the more painful path to recovery.
While they also admitted their game money is not well spent, the same money wasted in a game is probably still a batter value comparing to where else they waste it.

Well, as a former casher, I know how easy it is to get caught up in building your character quicker. I was a moderate casher, spending $100 here, a $100 there, but it adds up quicker than you think. Looking back, I wish I had never done it, or not as much, because before you know it, you have a couple $1000 in a browser game that is not worth it, especially now since it has become such a cash heavy game. Do I regret the money I spent?... sure. Do I worry about it?... no. Would I do it again?... definitely not.

But, there are things that R2 could do to make it a more pleasurable experience. Separate BG and arena into those with KH and those without so at least those of us without it would stand a chance. That by itself would help immensely. Just a thought...
Just loving life one day at a time… and having fun doing it!

Also because of whales, many low levels are bringing their guild members to feed them kills.
                          Basically ruining battlegrounds.

This is not the first time, Koram S8 used to do it as well, and it definitely wont be the last.

Right.... Vette went through the trouble of creating a max level Knighthood alt (with Lieutenant Title as well) for the sole purposes of feeding themself kills in the battleground.

It's not at all possible that two guild members just happened to be fighting for fun, or that people from the same servers/guilds happen to be in the same battleground. *sarcasm*

                            You are immensely paranoid.

Even assuming he's correct, I'm really not sure how that "ruins battlegrounds". People giving away kills has been going on as long as I've been playing, and in my opinion, it's healthier than a cutthroat free for all where the weakest players might be lucky enough to get one kill by the end.
New players have almost no motivation to enter (or at least stay) in BG without someone to feed them a few kills.
