  • [Problem] Stolen R2 Account

To the Person who stole an R2 Account from Another Player:

I may not know of you, and after today's events, I don't even want to know of you. However, you made off with an account that doesn't belong to you as it belongs to a friend of mine. You now have the entire server cluster after you as a result because we, as a server, take kindly to our friends; no matter what guild they are in.

So, I am going to give you three choices, and you get to choose one:
    1. Obvious Choice: You will return said stolen account to the person you stole it from in the same condition she had it.
    2. Coward's Choice: You will start making Twilight Coast your permanent home as if you step foot onto any of the 5 sectors of Balenor, we will find you and the guild you sought refuge into, and will make it our permanent devotion for plunders as we will take turns. In addition to that, we will not help you in any MPDs, events, or anything game related. You're on your own; Good luck.
    3. Justice Done Choice: I do not know how far up the support chain this has gone already, but if R2 decides to take action, you will be banned as stealing an account is a violation of the Terms of Service. It's almost the same as account piloting and/or buying/selling an account.
Again, I have never seen an entire cluster after just one guy, but it goes to show that no one in that cluster will tolerate such actions. We might have our differences from day to day, but stealing someone's account is the lowest of the low that no one will tolerate or turn a blind eye to.

It doesn't matter if you changed the name, start deleting people off that list, or play 'possum, many of us have our friend on our lists and if we are removed from your side, we still have it in our "strangers" list. So, you're sloppy in not covering up your tracks really well.

I can be PM'd for further info and will release it to a moderator and/or mentor only.

I always feel like a reminder to never give out the password is needed when I see threads like this. If you wouldn't trust someone with the keys to your house and your credit card, don't give them your password.

Hopefully your friend sent in a ticket already. I'm sure they appreciate the help you're offering, but the owner of the account would need to pm a mod, obviously from an alt account if the main is inaccessible, if assistance is needed.

I am hoping she did as that account is of value: she had it VIP'd along with buying balens before he made off with it. I will pass the info to her when I dive in, and see where she can go from there. Everyone in that cluster is working around to helping her; some of which are way bigger players than her account (of 14+Mil BR). Usually, I am a lone wolf with my hangar, but after today, everyone is working together for the same cause.

FYI, I know the feeling. I never give out my credentials. I feel they have to come here and pry it off my dead cold body, and only if it lets them.

She will definitely need to send in a ticket, with the usual ownership proving things. Since she cashed, it will be very easy to provide proper evidence. You can definitely help by giving her the current name of the person responsible, so the account can be traced back to the main.

        Things needed in the ticket:

        Character name and server
Email address bound to the account
        Approximate registration date
Registration IP, or the location with an explanation for why it's not the same as now
Last 3 recharge receipts, in screenshot form (upload to an image sharing service to include them all)
The date and time last able to access the account, approximate

Okay, cool. Time of incident (approximate) that I saw the entry in chat was 2017.04.17 at 11:00am server time (R2 Games 610 Cluster US West) when she called him a thief. I was taking a break from doing the Sylph Atoll and Cross Server MPD for devotion/Rave Event across my units. I asked what happened and that's when I got the story from her. Other players also caught wind of it as she had a much larger friend base so the chat was moving in trying to get the guy give her account back. This portion can be fitted onto the "date and time last able to access the account" section. The rest, I will have to see her when I wake in the morn as she is logged off (probably for the night) from the alt she used to communicate with the rest of the server and trying to play now as a result of the theft.

Thanks ahead, and I will keep you updated. I only have around 24 hours or less as we will get a merge with 700, but also that Wednesday is going to be booked solid as not only I have to take a cat back to the vet to get his stitches removed (had him fixed) but I have to take him with me as I go on my transport gig for the 3-4 hours, so won't probably be back until 930pm West R2 Games Server Time on that day.

            Update
Information and this thread link submitted to my friend and her friends. I will follow up in about 5 hours since the cat appt has been moved to today. I go now to prepare for the long haul as the city is about 2 hours away.

Person who stole was caught spending inventory items on the VIP wheel. Seems like the sins of my past has finally caught up to me as I found out the real identity of the thief. I will bombard his little alt farm (guild) when I get back.
