  • Sylph Atoll major nerf

Yet another very unpleasant nerf after patch is the dramatic reduction of sylphs numbers in atoll and, as it seems to me, increasing the time between the spawns. This is very frustrating during the Atoll Boss fighting, which now needs much longer longer time to be done than before patch. You run around the atoll to find any sylph and you watch it absolutely empty for minutes. But it is also really annoying in the simple sylph hunt, when you need to get 60 essences to exchange for a sylph seal - sylphs are scant, time between spawns is very long.

It feels like someone of the Devs or game authorities is getting the pervert pleasure of make each and every thing in game, even the simplest, more and more time consuming. And like I stopped being interested in dimensions before, I will soon stop being interested in atoll as well. I am not ready to hunt 12 sylphs for 30 minutes.

Of course, they will say it's now part of the game play. It's becoming to be like the first Wartune where it becomes mundane to play; then again, I think I smell a vacation coming up. Bad thing is, I wish the guilds would not auto-disband as I do have my own ship that I do not want to part without.

Free my ♫Day-O♪. There is nothing "rare" about changing the frequency of something that people have been used to for a very long time. It's called "malicious intent" and it ♫Day-O♪ the players off.

As promised, I am going to put forth my two-cents on a topic. A lot of the players are specialists in certain parts of the game that they gotten used to. Some are MPD bravados, while others take to BG and/or Arenas, and myself, I am a specialist in the mount training, sylph upgrading/enchanting, and spire running types of events. As with many players, we keep our eyes open and often measure a lot of things (how long it takes to complete something, the amount of rewards, and, in the Sylph Atoll's case, how long it takes for sylphs to respawn so we can hit them again.

I was told (along with others) that this type of thing that happened with the Atoll was intentional, and therefore could not be classified as a bug. I know this won't sit well with the specialists of said particular event as, again, many are used to the mechanics of such in the matter of convenience. But this can be said for all events as well that we gotten used to that changes like this is like throwing a monkey wrench in to an already oiled machine. It puts a huge stop.

Had this intentional change been put forth on the patch notes (they didn't have a problem when noting they would remove the outlands icon from the city and wilds views during a maintenance), everyone would take a read to see the change and probably will have to adjust to such if they want to go further and maybe will save the time from bug reports of such intentions to be made. It might be a negative impact if they were to post such, but it's even worse when it is not told and players have to find out on their own about these nerfs that are happening. Stuff like this is probably what will drive them out from doing such events or the game completely (if they haven't done so already).

If I were to compare my game play in 2015 and this year, I would say that I had it best in 2015 because of the abundance of events, rewards, and options (devotion wise) that was given to me as a player in determining on how I want to play the game. It wouldn't matter if I had real life things to do (since I do from 2013 on) as I wind down my time in playing this game and/or responding to forum posts. Performance wise, I had the same hardware from 2015 (mainly from 2010) to now; the only exceptions was I am at Windows 10 (from Windows 7) and that I operate at 60 MBPs internet (from 15 MBPs in 2013). So if something worked really well in 2015, why couldn't it still work now? That's how I think in the department of quality assurance and testing and providing a service to others. If anyone asks about my network provision, I will gladly look back into my books of the things I have done to trying to enhance the service (hardware upgrades, firewall protections, etc.) for those who wish to utilize for communication, emails, information gathering and so forth. If something planned didn't go as well (I test through a DMZ separate network before putting it in the public sector) as I have thought, I will check the last known good setting that worked and compare such. If something does work and is ready for mainstream, I will put forth an announcement before it goes live; the same can be said if some changes will mean a certain type of feature will be obsolete as I will do that as well.

I might put forth my comparison as a sole proprietor versus a big company. I can only do so much with limited resources at hand. However, I would think a company as big as the developers they would have adequate testing and could get things done much faster than I would had done at it alone.

This game, in itself, does have a lot of potential in being the best MMO that players come by. It won't get there if things are intentional and are not being told during a release that players have to scramble to put forth a bug report on something that is amiss. I only do a few things on any day that I am fine with for the time being, but once those things are obsolete, so will my game playing days.

Well, i stopped with Sylph Atoll completely. It is a shame it got harder to upgrade sylph-gear now but soit.

This game is all about wasting time, 250 devo for Rave, TT impossible to clear 1 stage, very long battles in Sylph arena, Sylph atoll with hardly any sylphs. Yeah, it is getting more fun with each patch/maint/nerf they pull out. DIMS got better (yeah, try to use 2000 energy to complete the event).

Thanks to patch 7.0 i only login during the morning most of times, play 1, maybe 2 hours and log out again till next day. A game needs to be playable (hence the word gameplay) but they are making it hard to play this game.

Between OC sessions you can't enter things like TT and so but you must in order to get devotion. So the developers make these changes on purpose so you can't get the required devotion to get the balens (300). Oh, what? Ah yes, they are pushing us into buying VIP. Well, before i pay for a game it needs to be good. I cannot support developers who mess up the gameplay and leave the players rot in the many bugs this game has.

Spire bug with the overlapping sprites? Ofc not, this bug is almost celebrating it's first birthday, how stupid it that? TT where the euds revive to full health after each round? Never going to be fixed. Blitzing bug with the new eud thing? Hell they are nog fixing it, they remove the whole icon instead so you need to be in cloud city in order to reach all this stuff now.

And then they expect us to spend money? Well, i stopped spending forever because there were more and more bugs and the devs never fix these things. They only implement new silly things and nerfing the good stuff. So why would i spend money to support more bugs and more nerfs?

So my solution was simple, spend less time in the game and only socialize with the guildies and log out again. Works great, i have more free time IRL wich works very liberating.

A bit over a year ago, I voiced my disdain with the farm revamping because the devs could not make the click fields centered around each animal. I would click on one animal and the one that is like a few meters away would get the collection and/or dialog box (sell, speedup). This was made known with the words that I will not buy a Spirit Covenant just to harvest/feed my animals. To this day, it's still not fixed; and with them putting (cue in the Day-O kissers and/or fankids) it out in the city view, it's like swimming in molasses.

I guess I lost track of time when the sprite overlap came about. I didn't realize it was almost a year since players reported such to the point some had provided video to show that this is a problem. I mean, what's the point to provide something like video if they could not see beyond their Day-O hole as their heads are so far up in it?

Before Rave got the bar increase (not told in the patch notes), I found a way to get 200 by doing the things (along with a backup plan) I can do. I am not KH, so those were out the window. I haven't registered in OC because of some stuff, so that is out as well. 200, on what I feel that was the max without putting for any more time or wait for anything; and now that's gone. Not only that, but to be given the same amount of fun coins in the end is not fun, either.

There are many things I forego and not do just because of silly things like these. I am not buying VIP on a game that is Day-O now. In fact, I am having more fun devoting my time outside the game. So basically, I have to thank the devs for that to the point I can say the following words:

I am no longer a game slave! My chains are broken. I am free.

Well it's good to know that this is not a bug. Why on earth would the devs decide to change the atoll respawn when there is events on. Another stupid idea from the devs (what is it we don't spend money on atoll so why make it easy for us) I don't intend wasting up to 50 minutes a day doing atoll when it should only take me 15 mins at most and that is with getting the boss as well.

Today was a good example started atoll for advance and only ended up with 12 and 10 sofs after being up there for 25 mins. I gave up in the end as enough time had passed and was sick of the lag that was caused by so many people waiting for the same thing and only 1 in 5 spawned adv the rest were sofs.

Please take note that the devs don't really care that much unless we are spending money on the game so as far as I am concerned I will not bother with spending anymore for a game that takes twice as long to do and no beneficial rewards.

Each day I had wanted to spend, and each day I didn't because of stuff like this. Long ago, someone would have come and told me "if you don't want to be at the end of a losing side, you should spend". I would look to that person, now, and tell them "give me something in this game that is worth spending on and I will". I am sorry, but having these silent intentions was not something I look forward to when something new comes about. Murphy's Law would dictate that "if something is not broken, why fix it". The Atoll refresh/respawn rates were good that people come and participate, get their moments in, and then leave so others can get in as well.

This new intention does the complete opposite as it not only have folks fighting one another just to get a certain type of spawn for an event, but keeps everyone for a much longer time so they can try and get their events satisfied before moving out. This will not bode well for those who might manage their time in doing certain things at such times. I, myself, only commit about a few hours to playing this game after all the stuff that happened. Some things I do, and some I don't do. Prolonging time to spend on an event that we're used to completing in a much lesser time isn't going to keep me on any further than I need to be.

I got a life outside the game, and I am not going to upset that just because a few brain dead folks at the developer's side threw a few monkey wrenches on things that don't need fixing. How about they fix the things that seriously need fixing instead of Day-O around? Novel idea, yes?
