It's known as the PVP gear, earned by PVPing, and best used for PVP related fights...
Makes perfect sense to me, if you don't like that, go get the PVE gear.

i think he meant medallion? since pvp set requires insig, not honor. and yes, imperial/LD med gives a huge boost to stats to make his case valid.

You should have researchd this game before you started playing. This game is mostly pvp therefore most events will be geared towards pvp.
