  • Does Floating Astral increase income from WB?

Hi guys, did someone test or can say if floating damage astral clearly increases the income you would get from WB?
For example if you get 50,000 gold and daru and you switch only for WB the PDEF or MDEF with Floating - will you start getting at least 55,000 or more?

Thank you very much in advance!

In theory, in the long run, it shouldn't.

      What winlord said.

      By the law of averages.

i tested a level 7 one for a couple of weeks straight. all i can say is it hits lower dmg alot more often than it hit higher dmg. certainly decreases the overall dmg.. dont even talk about an increase.

It does have one SMALL use. Let's say you're up against an opponent with very high Defense (archer vs. knight with high pdef, mage vs mage with high mdef, etc) and you barely hit them for 1k damage. Well if your normal damage is 10k+ then that 1k damage is actually your minimum damage, so a floating astral can't reduce it further. Depending on how the damage formula actually calculates float damage, your damage against that opponent will either be slightly higher with let's say a 50% float to make it simple: (1k - 1k start damage) to (1k - 1.5k with float) OR if float is calculated BEFORE damage reduction it could be 1k to maybe as high as 6k+! Someone with more experience can chime in here. So, other than these rare cases where you have an opponent who reduces you to minimum or near minimum damage, floating damage is subject to the law of averages and you're much better off with another Astral.

it doesn't work like that. say u hit 500 to any opponent, after equiping floating astral it'd be like 300-700

he is just not sure of how the dmg formula works, whether the floating dmg kicks in before the base dmg or after it. so don't make useless posts like this to call people stupid when they are just trying to sort things out.

It's fine, not everyone can understand simple things like words forming sentences. My point was, depending on how the damage formula works, it may make a difference because there is a minimum damage of 10% of your attack. If floating bypasses that minimum point then it would indeed still be overall useless, but I was assuming that it doesn't.

Yes. It gives the same chance to lower your damage as it does to increase it meaning over time your damage stays the same.

overall, this is just a hair-pulling astral to use. ditch it, saves all the problem.

Might as well name it The Gambler instead of ruthlessness. Accirate description…
                              S166. lvl: 78(soon/is)
                              Mage: Existence (G.M)
                              BR: 113k-ish 70 set's done!!
