Don't know what game you have been playing, but I already have max number of red astrals I can use along with the 2 orange one's that can't be upgraded to red.

Unlocking extra astral slots has nothing to do with the ability to have red/orange astrals anyway. Unless I am misunderstanding what your saying

Clearly I been playing the game where you get at max 16 Astral Slots at level 80.

Even if he was using every red astral, he did state "every red astral I can use plus 2 oranges". Using your lists, that's only 12 astrals.
