I stopped spending money on balen about 4 weeks ago and cancelled my VIP last week so yeah I said I'll stop and have stopped. I have never mentioned quitting but do feel that point is coming close now but think I'll wait till VIP runs out and see where we are at then.

LOL I know this, I encounter lots of players like this. I love all these complainin' but still spending. And also the "I QUIT!!! WT ALL ABOUT MONEY/BALENS" but you still see participating/debating/arguing in forums. And with all the arguing in forums you can still see they are playing the game.

Are you sure of what you're saying? Maybe because of their experience, they argue and that doesn't necessarily mean they retook WT as a past-time hobby.

I respect your opinion. But when I read your post, I feel like your want to make me (us) feel guilty or like I'm missing something. I don't smoke, I don't drink and I'm happy to be sober. If I'm having fun playing a video game, where is the problem?

My point is, I don't understand people who smoke or drink, but I don't tell them what to do. Is there more things in life than video games, yes. But, with moderation, I don't see the problem. The problem is not the game, it's how you deal with it.

Just look at your answer: "have fun spending all your time on this game instead of real life", I don't feel you respect my point of view.

Real life lol... I'm a optimistic person and I know we live in a really crappy world. I'm happy I can escape this sordid place from time to time by playing this game...

Don't worry about it, it happens to the best of us As for me it all started with Ultima online after that was EverQuest then I got fed up with those people playing as we form Guilds and every night need to attend for guild raids or some **** like that. At first was free and easy then it became regimental and later it mandatory to attend 80% of their functions what a load of ****. At the end I just gave up and went on with my life and for nearly 8 years I did not play any games except Hero of Might n Magic 4 and later 5. Kind of fun and can take my time ( no time don't play ).
Recently I just retired and got tired of watching porn on the net. Saw my next door neighbor's kids playing wartune. Looks kind of easy no planning involve, not much tactics compare to EQ or WoW and the best part no corpse recovery , free and I limit myself 2 hrs per day after dinner or sometime 1 hr after lunch. So my points are :

1) Don't keep up with the Jones its a game not real life and you are suppose to enjoy it not torture yourself with it. Hell if I want to torture with that I might as well go back to my old job and come out of retirement.
2) If you feel like stopping then stop don't worry about it nobody will come to you in the middle of the night and knock on your door asking why you quit. Its your life and real life comes 1st.

The only part about this game I do not really like its that part where you run like a headless mad chicken to this this pile of crystals to bring back to this demon and along the way some player kills you and your need to restart again.

Ultima Online was the best back in the day the new ultima online sucks, so I play free servers the classic uo. Like t2a and Renassiance era, but will never bring back the feel when ICQ was around

How about you stop deluding yourself about how morally/socially superior you are and get on with something else.

This thread was made to help people who want to quit but can't find the push to do it, mine was simply an example why I quit and if people can relate can hopefully over come their addiction. When I quit it will be because the games boring. Log in do all the daily stuff do blitzes and log out. Same boring stuff I've been doing for the last year.

I don't get why some people are actually bashing up the OP. All he did was throw the truth into the faces of a lot of peeps here who realise it themselves as they read through the post. It doesn't force anyone to do anything and if it doesn't apply to you, then good for you.
One of the better outcomes of this post I would say is that people in those positions would realise that they aren't the only ones in the mix and its much more common than they think.

Because the OP post his opinion, but don't respect other people opinion. Just see all his other posts, not only in this thread. He's selfish and like Ginger already said, he think he's so morally/socially superior. Just reread all this thread. Some players like me try to voice our opinion. Instead of saying I respect your point of view, he says things like good luck wasting your life. And now what? I'm suppose to keep being respectful? It's the OP that start bashing us, not the other way around. He wants to live his REAL LIFE, great, just quit and stop telling people what they should do.

Personally I thought most of his post was about how he managed to quit the game and the realisations he came to before, which made him quit. Though I agree some sentences could be phrased better, but on the whole to ignore the whole message just to make a judgement on those few parts feels like a bit like nit picking isn't it? But again, am definitely not a regular to forums, so my views about the poster were completely neutral and I probably didn't read too much into the subtle hints of moral superiority as you say.
