As great of an idea as that sounds.... 9 Mages... would win every time.. xD! 3 Casting Heals... and 6 AoE's every round. Then switch what 3 do heals and repeat. You would always have full health and mass DAMAGE....So um Yea... Lets do it!
I have a bad feeling about this :/ I'd rather would make guild wars be like a "survival" battle much like the tombs with the waves. Maybe the 3 higher rating of a guild initiate the fight vs the other 3 highest rating of the other guild and as soon a team loses the next 3 enter the battlefield and so on without resetting the fight until a guild runs out of members. There can be aswell a member limit that join the war like 50, or a different way of who starts the fight like:most contribution, level and exp, arena ranking. Or it can be inverted, from the weakest to the strongest. As Moksin94 said in a 9 v 9 mages would win every battle and not all people have the latency to do those battles without lagging >.<
Aka: standard game pvp. Whoever attacks first wins.
Not always, things can turn around, especially with use of runes. But @N3f3rtiti that idea is way more plausible than the 9v9. With lag and imbalance, this "wave" is definitely the way Id go
