When we have unlimited events, I exchange everything I have. For this event I exchanged all my souls for whips and the mount. When we get whip event, they will probably give soul for each 5 times we train our mount. So, I'll get a good refill of soul crystals. If they stop giving souls, well, too bad for me but I don't regret my decision. My point is, each month, I try to get all the whips I can from soul event and all the souls I can from the whip event.

Average SC you get per month right now is around 1000 +/- the SC you get from GB

Not sure where you get this figure as I do not think it's even close. I average about 50sc/daily from just jewel hunt which would be ~1500/month. Add in ToK (I do hard daily) and its about 3500-4000 a month without any events, dungeon drops, gb rewards etc.
