Are archers the new hot class post sylph era?

    I really want to know how you think of EWD vs crit mage. Linazz‎ said EWD is tankier but does it still apply when players reach to your level? What if a EWD mage duel with crit mage? As many here said, crit will dominate EWD because of the crit boost. Is there any strong players like you still prefer EWD or they'll eventually switch to crit mage to be stronger?

      Do you even need to ask? EWD gives u 50% boost to dmg in all attacks but disable crit (lvl 10 astral assuming). Crit build has astral that also gives 50% boost to dmg when you crit, but the crit itself also gives ur dmg an additional boost of 50% (not sure if it is 50% or how the compute exactly) so overall on a crit hit you'll deal much more dmg than an EWD user can do. In a fight, crit hits are more important in taking out the opponents fast rather than dealing more dmg but taking more turns to kill the enemy. During those additional turns, they can heal up and if they have iris as their sylph, then all that dmg you do is not gonna help you win the fight until it drags on to the point where the timing gives both sides a massive boost to kill each other in 1 hit. With Crit build, all you need is to crit a few times or even once to clear troops and throw in a couple hits to lower their hp to a point where a crit thunderer or delphic thunder frenzy with crits will kill the enemy off.

          They were the biggest gimped class before the sylphs were here. Only reason people took them was for World Boss.

            Not always the case, An ewd class will almost always have a spare astral slot. Lets say its a lv 10 guardian angel, this will definitely
            change the outcome of the duel. Most mages have gone crit for gaia which is weak vs other mages, Amazon can also crit but works well overall with a ewd based character especially with a lv 10 guardian angel or deflect. There are numerous things to take into consideration pvp,pve and so on. Just cause a lot of classes on chinese go crit+gaia mainly for pve it doesnt mean ewd is a reduntant build.

              Nope, before archers have a tough time dealing with knights. Now, with electric sylph Gaia, knights might be easier than mages for them due to their low mdef.

                They had a tough time with both mages and knights... Knight was normal, they're our counter, but even mage was a tough nut to crack back then.
                I think that's why the mages are so angry now, they're so used to killing us, they got angry they lost that unfair advantage.

                  Nope, crit build is the best when you reach level 60. If you hit a crit with high level determination astral, you're pretty much doing double damage instead of the +50% from max EWD. At level 60, you have enough astral slots to put the essential astrals attack, pdef, mdef, goddess blessings, sniper's edge and determination.

                    The reason most people have a crit build especially after 70 or at 80 is because after 70 most defensive astrals are useless compared to what you can gain in offense.
                    At lvl 80 you basically have much more advantage going offense and losing out on a minor defensive astral...
                    Below 70 every defensive astral is quite good, that's what EWD is often equal or better than ED at that point. EWD needs 1 astral slot, ED needs 2 (ED + crit astral).

                        Well, I have no problem with mages around my br before sylph, but knights are the bane for archers. Now, mages are actually tougher than knights since I use a mattack sylph (Iris or Gaia).

                        • oh u should see what archers at my server do with gaia Delphic.Epic critical dmg 1 shot kill all in pvp 1 did 170k against archer(our best knight got 140k hp) imagine than Delphic on mages who have lower pdef and hp than archers....its wooohoo

                            we all have the same damage with gaia, just that archers have 20% more chances to crit. So theoreticaly everyone can do that damage with gaia just that mages and knights are less lucky with crit :P

                              Gaia does magic damage, so Delphic would do LESS damage on mages.

                                not just passive 20% chance, but also battle prowess gives extra 10% dmg
