  • Mage Talent: Callousness

    Hi everyone,

I'd like to share this screenshot of my mage on bubbles. Here's what happened:
When my toon's Barrier and heal talents maxed for seal level, I decided to put some (2) points on the talent Callousness. I first saw it appear when running in Moonevil Den Nightmare. Me and my team were baffled because we didn't have a knight, and how come it was the archer who was wrapped by the bubble. One of my teammates said it could be archer talent.

But noooo. I did a little experimenting in Sylph Atoll with the pans. The bubble (erm, shield) wrapped my toon only once. Few kills later, it appeared on my templar as you can see on the SS below,

and then it appeared again on both me and my templar, some kills later.

So here's what I found out since there's not much information about Callousness:
    A. The shield appears by chance (it's on the talent description, really)
    B. It can wrap on a random ally, OR could be the caster and 1 ally, OR it might (emphasis on MIGHT) wrap the entire team.

**Please excuse my royal noobness on the use of words, I don't know much about game technical terms and ***. My purpose for sharing is so that other mages (and other classes) will be aware of this talent too.**

Lemme know what you guys AND gals think. Thanks!

AFAIK, the chance for Callousness to trigger on anyone of your team is the same, let's call the probability p.

Probability to trigger on you = p
Probability to trigger on exactly 2 of your teammates (but not you) = (1-p)*p^2
Probability to trigger on all 3 of you = p^3
Probability to trigger on anyone of your team = 3*p*(1-p)^2
Probability to trigger on any 2 of your team = 3*p^2*(1-p)

Callousness: Shortens Delphic Hell Thunder's cooldown time and has a chance to form a damage absorption shield lasting 3 turns.
            Level 1. --- 10 cooldown decrease --- 5% damage absorption
            Level 2. --- 11 seconds --- 6% absorption
            Level 3. --- 12 seconds --- 7% absorption
            ... etc.

Does it protect all three turns or just the one attack received?

Edit: supplied info from Wikia was, and is, wrong.

              It functions like Agoran shield.

3 turns or until the enemy damages enough to remove it.

The description WikiWartune supplies doesn't suggest that :c, "absorb 5% of damage"

                  It's incorrect there.

Doesnt that follow bernoulli distribution, since the p is fixed.

Binomial distribution since the number of trials = 3.
