Instead of usual grunts and whooshes, battle cries could be used to give different sounds, like clothing gives a different appearance. Give a small stat boost, like a DEF reduction, since a good battle cry strikes fear into your opponent. Upgraded cries would be deeper, with reverb event cries could be appropriate words or sounds...etc..
