Treasure Map Dig

Ive noticed that sometimes when you go to the x in the treasure map and start digging, its telling you that your in the wrong place and have to use balens in order to open. has anyone else experience this? I've been able to still dig in that spot without using balens by closing the treasure map and then going to my inventory and re-opening it.

It happened in the first day, but today it told me to go to the south
