All classes are good.
Its the players and how they choose to work with each class.

You will feel, that a class is weak, if you are pitted against someone a lot stronger then you. And the opposite goes, if you "meat" someone weaker.
It all boils down to what playstyle you like...and maybe which character you find most visually pleasing.

If u want to last the longest and deal devastating damage (not as high as a archer since they are ur prime DPS) then go knight
If u want to kill (PVP is what i mean) everyone and everything really fast then archers is ur best choice
If u want to crush everything to the ground,heal,play with magic (fire,thunder,stars) and be a player who wants to do DPS but in magical way then Mage is ur top choice

Charisma functions to increase your "troop" amount.

1 charisma = 1 troop.

It does nothing more than that.
