Apollo's definitely the least useful sylph for anything. Hades is great for PvP and PvE, Apollo... is not. The heal skill sucks, the other attacks for crit classes are a lot less dependable than for Hades and especially Gaia/Herc.

Medusa/Triton = great support
Hercules/Aegis = Great PvP and PvE sylphs
Amazon, poor man's Gaia but still works in some places

Meh, Apollo/Athena is still good for defending towers in guild battle, arena and will be great in upcoming 4v4 arena, csgb, 4v4 titans. Dont forget he has a ton of aoe skills making him VERY useful in multi-player vs multi-player encounters. On the average, I would say sylph power should be ranked like this:

Strong Single Target PvE/PvP:
Gaia ~ Strong vs Archer/Knight
Amazon Queen ~ Strong vs Archer/Mage

Strong Multi-Target PvE/PvP.
Apollo ~ Strong vs Archer/Knight
Hades ~ Strong vs Archer/Mage

Strong Support:
Pan ~ Buffing/Enfeebling
Iris ~ Healing

So each sylph has it's own unique strengths. No sylph is worthless in my opinion.

Actually, only Hades' delphic is AoE. His upgrade got 2nd AoE skill, but not really sure if it's worth it.
Also, Hades does awesome in Single Target PvE/PvP, thanks to his strong single target skills, which also have some nice utility.

medusa is also a solid aoe sylph especially for those who don't cash enough for hades/apollo with her delph (314%) , steal(280%) and weaker 2-3 target(145% and -50 res debuff).

For Athena you can buy 370 %/350 % aoe skills+ it has delphic of 320 % so it makes it great sylph even for 1vs1 pvp and basically every activity.

People always forget the utterly gamebreaking buff medusa provides. It's a 30% damage increase to party that lasts for 3 turns. Outright devastating in group arenas. That and Nirvana are the only things I ever use it for though, sadly.
