MemoryLane I think you might just want to do what Stormageddon did and just cut ties with R2. All they have done since they came into being is time and again prove their incompetence. Instead of banning people and making everyone suffer for their incompetence they should be doing their jobs. No one is happy with this outcome, not a single person. But in spite of R2's incompetence we all try to put up with it, or worse make excuses. They have never in a single instance done anything their GMs are lazy the Dev team is pretty much non-existent, and yet they continue to mess things up. For example, on Crystal Saga my main was hacked I lost over 100p in gold and items, as well as lost 800 xtal I had just got from VIP, and when I brought it to R2 what did they say? Sorry, nothing we can do about it, it's up to the Devs..... So are we really going to be surprised that R2 messed up AGAIN?!

Things could have been done differently, and no one will argue with you on that. Alpha felt rushed, S1 felt rushed, and many things reported during alpha weren't fixed before S1 launched.

I'm not happy about the way this situation is being handled. It's not ideal, it's messy, and it won't really fix much. Hopefully moving forward, R2 will have a better plan in place for emergencies.

If this conversation doesn't happen publicly, there will forever be fingers pointed at people and suspicions that will continue to plague the server forever. Conversation needs to happen- get everything out in the open, dump it all on the table, and we move on from there. I don't like public witch hunts, but it's not my forum, so I don't always get to make that call.

However, making it through the investigation after being reported publicly is the best way to clear people's names.

I have mentioned before, those who did nothing wrong have nothing to worry about, regardless of how many times their name appears in this thread, my inbox, or in tickets.

Leaving a door open, and breaking a lock are very different things. There have been numerous reports on here for weeks about there being a glitch.
Now, if I was a developer and someone was talking to me about there being a potential way for people to scam my system, I would immediately release a team of
developers, coders and IT people to investigate as many possibilites of that issue.
Yes, there wasn't definitive proof, but there was notices that something was going on.
It had been obvious for days in-game before anything was done.
There are several other players who have the same level of stuff as several other of the people banned, but since they didn't get their names publicly drug through the mud,
nothing is going to happen to them.
And the people who are calling out others in a public forum situation, using slander and calling names get nothing done to them.

illidari, if a person cheats, gets items through illegitimate means and passes them on, they are just as bad as any duped item. I am not R2 staff, but most people will agree that it is a form of cheating. It's no different to receiving stolen goods in terms of the law. The person who stole and the one who willingly received it or purchased it are breaking the law. All these things are stated in R2Games ToS.

While you may not have cheated EXP, however I do know that your guild and other guilds exploited a bug to gain additional EXP, another bug I don't know 100% about as I am not here for events due to work, I do know from your guild members you and others, including those in my guild and alot of others exploit this.

Your items you have that were gotten from cheaters whether you did the duping and/or gaining yourself is still in breach of ToS.

I won't finger point at you anymore, I have called you out because I have been told many things, and seen it. If R2 do their job quickly and swiftly, all the cheats will be banned quickly. I see they are starting the process and it's about time.

By your logic all of the server would be banned because any help you receive from a person who did abuse glitch would trickle outwards. While you may not be directly in contact with the person who glitched, in such a small community you would be no more than 3-4 degree of separation from a glitch abuser. If so then R2 may as well reset the server because almost everyone has come in contact with everyone. As for my guild doing that its either me or my friend jayne. There are no other members and never have been. Given the fact she is still 71 since the start of the server I hardly think she abused any exp glitches. Check your facts. I was never a part of Eternity. I was, however, a part of Royals. A guild of which you are member. I have certainly given free ancestral gear to members there while I was a member and I am sure they have helped you since then. By your logic then you would be just as culpable as me if I was the glitch abuser. That sounds reasonable don't you think? As I have said my only item is my weapon. And I had that long before the discovery of this glitch. Why do you think Shujinko and I were killing Ravensteed? Coupled this with the fact that he was able to get soul crusher shards from level 75 dungeons means my weapon, I am fairly certain was made legitimately. You are quick to point fingers at others but have you stopped to think in what ways you have benefited from glitch abusers? You have no way to be certain of who abused glitch or has a glitch items. Especially since troll had permeated the entire server with his duped items. Any time you trade you run the high likelihood of coming into contact with someone who glitched or has partook of glitched items. I recommend you revisit your sense of morality as things are never black and white.

That logic is very flawed, Raumus. It's like not blaming a burglar for managing to break a lock on a door and instead blaming the manufacturer of the lock for not making it indestructible.

It's not like this glitch was reported for months with nothing done about it. It was fixed within 15 minutes of having a video showing how it was done.

If an employee of a deli, leaves for the night, not only doesn't lock the doors, but leaves the doors open and sandwiches on the table in clear view of people walking by, and people take them. Who is to blame, the people taking sandwiches that are just sitting there, or the employee that didn't lock up the restaurant.
R2 has in the past NUMEROUS times, not done anything to people exploiting bugs, like the Tenets bug I heard about, where people maxed their tenets during some type of event, and not only was no one banned, but there were ZERO implications for the people who took advantage of the glitch. There have been events
released where codes were given out, posted on forums, they were only supposed to be usable by one person one time, yet due to r2 not being able to check things out, A LOT of us were unable to claim any rewards due to some of the people accepting so many rewards that over half of the server was left without.
Yet there were reports done about that, and nothing happened.
So why is it now that there are bannings in place for people that did no worse than all those others.
Advantage was taken by at least 80% of the server, MINIMUM, but only a few have to pay the price.
R2 chose to not fully test their server before releasing, R2 released an inferior malfunctioning product.
And now those that took advantage of that malfunction, again, due to R2 not taking their time...YET AGAIN, other people have to get banned.
Tell me what company can release a faulty product, and place the blame on their consumers for their mistake.
As far as I am concerned, R2 didn't take the time to make sure that their stuff worked. Granted, you can't always get EVERYTHING, we all know that, mistakes will always be made.
BUT, with the amount of mistakes CONSTANTLY made by this company, and the inattention placed to providing us with information about events released, new items released, how different updates work.
And when we ask, we are constantly provided with zero information.
If R2 can refuse to inform us of how different in-game systems, mounts, pets, events work...but can ban others for taking advantage of a mistake that they made...why is it out fault.
Should we have done it...no.
BUT, shouldn't they have not released a server before they could get everything squared away first.
R2 constantly releases new servers new servers new servers, keeps pushing the envelope to get more and more and more people to play, and spend money, without taking much time
to make sure the game runs smoothly.
I've played other games where there were similar issues, and nothing was done to the players, because they understood it was their mistake.
Give a massive compensation pack to the players that enough people can vouch for not using the glitch, for their integrity.
If there is going to be a banning, it needs to be on developing a half-assed game, without taking the time to make it run the way they want it to.

And before you people try to tell me that I'm wrong...I urge those of you that used this forum to simply call out specific names, guilds, and just trash talk other people.
If you didn't actually use the glitch, I GUARANTEE you used some of the items from people that did.
You wanna talk about ToS violations...how about harassing people, making a public display about other people, instead of handling this issue like an adult...

Again Kiwikiller please learn the game before you accuse me. That helm shujinko posted was not a duped item but a legitimate drop from NM Exelorn off the boss Envy. While Shujinko's character may have used the banned items to solo the dungeon that does not mean he cannot also get those items via legitimate dungeon drops. I like looking at stats and comparing them hardly means I am abusing any game glitches. If you truly are who people say you are then ask your Guild Master Markky. I was the first to bring this up to him as soon as I found out so he could keep an eye out. Look at my wings and mounts. And my gear. All pvp gear that could not have been duped save for my weapon. Which, I admit Shujinko had crafted. But this was prior to the entire discovery of the glitch. Shujinko and I were killing Ravensteed world boss for those shards as well as spending nearly 250 BDC on the hunt. As far as I know, the shards were obtained through such method prior to the discovery of the duplication glitch. Please keep attacking my character whether further proof. A screenshot of one statement out of context is very misleading. You may have wanted to post the other part of the conversation where Shujinko posted the item and the location he was in. Additionally, if I was abusing the glitch or trying to take advantage of it, you can be sure I would not make it public on WC. So again, thank you, but no thank you.

Alright I'm requesting this thread be closed as the bug itself has been patched, and if anyone has information on people who may have abused it then they can just send it to MemoryLane via Pm. This Thread is doing nothing but getting people fired up and starting issues that don't have any place in this thread.

Got your post caught up in the argument that I deleted, sorry about that. I wouldn't worry too much if you are being falsely accused. While everyone can go and scatter the items around the server, the item logs on each character can't be hidden, and that's what's being looked into.
