Is there someway to know what icons are and where you can find ways to fulfill them?

I need to complete a building but I need what looks like a pile of hot dogs or sausages to do that. There is no link to where or how to make them. I also need to make an accelerator but all it does is take me to the garage but doesn't say which line item it is. This is making increasingly frustrated.

I can see that the pile of hot dogs or sausages is transported using the refrigerated truck, which might be why it keeps taking you to the garage. Check your production buildings (maybe the meat processing plant?), and see if you have one that needs to be upgraded to make the hot dogs or sausages.
