Did you enchant or enhance any gear and run out of gold? Did you buy things in one of the shops, and maybe instead of gold you used diamonds? Did you do anything in the Farm icon without realizing you were paying for extra attempts? Sunday is the Fishing event - did you go fishing? That uses diamonds every attempt.
Try to think on all of the activities you did between the time you noticed you had the diamonds, and the time you noticed you didn't have the diamonds, and look around to see if certain actions could result in spending diamonds, and see if maybe that's where yours went.
