I suggest for male to male and female to female marriages to occur. I mean, what's the harm? I speak for a mature audience here.

Gender locking just about anything in real life or a game is a ridiculous concept. But in real life, there's no quests that need to be completed in order to get married.
Most of the marriage system would need to be rewritten because of how the game handles the checks for a valid party, and which character gets which set of the quests. It's not as simple as just removing the gender check.
