The market and value of gold differs from server to server. 3P may be considered expensive on newer servers, but would be extremely cheap on older servers. This would evidently lead to a varying, inconsistent pricing as not everyone would be paying the same worth for the same items. Costumes are however tradable, so you may find a casher who is willing to trade/sell costumes for in-game items/gold.
