Today we’d like to give a sneak peak to the new weapon, and its system coming out later on in this week’s update. We’re excited about this new weapon, and we think its unique attack system will be one that will quickly become popular, and be the attack of choice among PvP players.
When a player uses this weapon to attack another player, the message, “You are being attacked by one who wields the XXXXX.†will appear on the target’s screen. This graphical text message will block out the player’s ability to see what is going on, as well as click in areas blocked by the message, including any buttons in the player’s hotkey row.
As the players level the weapon up, not only will its stats increase, but also the length of its name. New syllables might be added to the name, or more descriptive titles give to it. As the weapon levels up, the name will get longer and longer, and thereby block out more and more of the target player’s screen and hotkey buttons while being attacked.
In its first stage, the weapon is simply known as The Spamarach. However, leveling it up will add –athon to the name, making it The Spamarachathon. The third level adds in the first title, The Slightly Annoying Spamarachathon.
Once players get to the ultimate version of this weapon, you will be able to cause untold fear across the realm each time one of your enemies sees the message, “You are being attacked by one who wields the Awesome Might and Majesty of the One True Instrument of Death and Destruction Heralded Across the Land as The Spamarachticexpibowtiesarecoolaprilfoolsyallathon.â€
