In truth I think that the newer GM accounts doesn't use the GM sword anymore, and the older GM accounts still have them.
Why bother using GM swords? A GM's main goal is pretty much to check out what's going on inside the server, not slay people left and right.
But overall, GM accounts don't wear armor.
