Socketting Banner and Sperion

Sorry can't seem to fully understand the guide i've read in the internet of both the banner and sperion system.

But if I socket them and morph/synthesize them will the socket and gems socketted in them disappear?

Or are they like the frageron weapon, once I upgrade them the socket and the gems will stay permanently unless I gem remove them.

For Lionheart Banners, you will need to remove any socketed gems before upgrading else they will disappear. The sockets will also close with the upgrade, so you will need to re-open them.

Sperion upgrades will retain any socketed gems and sockets, so removing gems will not be necessary.
